The One World Community Support Center hosts a dedicated volunteer Research team. This team’s purpose is to delve deep into the heart of an important endeavor – understanding how Peer Recovery Support can be optimized to empower individuals on their journey toward fulfilling lives. We acknowledge that the path to recovery is deeply individual, and our objective is to uncover the most effective means of facilitating this profound transformation.
Our current focal point revolves around the realms of time management and recovery. We hold a firm belief that effective time management can play a pivotal role in aiding individuals along their recovery journey. By delving into this
subject, our aim is to unearth invaluable insights that will steer us toward crafting personalized support systems that cater to individual needs.
To realize our research objectives, we are extending our reach to those who hold the most significance in this quest: individuals actively seeking recovery or undergoing it, alongside experienced Peer Recovery Support Specialists. Through a series of interviews and discussions, we are committed to gathering diverse perspectives that will enrich our understanding and provide direction to our research.
The One World Community Support Center (OWCSC) offers Two Weekly Research Discovery Meetings:
The first meeting is tailored for active Peer Recovery Support Specialists. During this session, we engage in discussions surrounding the challenges and intricacies of being a PRSS. We explore the PRS process, techniques, skills, and approaches to improvement. Additionally, we focus on ensuring support for PRSS, discussing ways to safeguard against the challenges and stressors inherent to the role.
The second Discovery meeting is designed for individuals who are either seeking recovery or actively engaged in it. In these sessions, we address the various challenges faced by those in recovery.
The research and discovery process is an ongoing journey that thrives on the contributions of as many participants as possible. Your participation would be immensely valuable in our collective endeavor to enhance the landscape of Peer Recovery Support, making it more effective for all involved.
We wholeheartedly invite you to register for one of our upcoming meetings. Upon registration, we will provide you with comprehensive information ahead of the session. Your keen interest is deeply appreciated, and we extend our gratitude for considering this opportunity.
